Imagine a World Without Water

Imagine yourself in a world without water. The Colorado River can no longer feed the Hoover Dam. Life, as we know it, competes for what little water resources remain. The L.A. water project through Bishop and down to the ‘Cascades’ in North Los Angeles looks like Child’s Play compared to the projects conceived in such a world.

This documentary (short, only seven minutes) follows the hypothetical: “What would a world without water be like?” It’s a unique perspective into environment, culture, and ecology.

Aviation Fuel Could be Produced from Algae

The newest boon in clean energy seems to be algae. The first indication seemed to be the experimental carbon sequestering project carried forth by MIT researcher, Isaac Berzin

Now, a 3 million grant could help spur a boom in the the study of algae as a potential source for - yes, you heard it - jet fuel.

In fact, according to the researchers from Arizona State University, who are undertaking the pilot project, this new kersone-type algae fuel can be produced at a lower cost than its traditional oil-based kerosene counterpart.
